It Spans over 25 years in the music and entertainment Industry. It began with humble beginnings in 1980 wherein he worked for the New Orleans radio station WYLD in the news and promotion department, in addition to the local television station WWL in the news department,before being promoted to the station’s promotional department. There he worked with several major and Indie record labels to market and promote the station. His job duties included: promotional contests, celebrity and local interviews, station promotional concerts, in-store promotions, and showcases. Aside from station activities, Wallace began working with Al Haman Production, Fresh Fest, and John Ray Production 3, Which at the time they were the biggest concert promoters in the southern region. Some of the artists that have helped set the radio retail/Publicity/ and marketing opportunities at that time were: New Edition, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Prince, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Earth Wind and Fire, and Tina Marie and Rick James, just to name a few.
In 1984, Jheryl Busy was hired as President of MCA Black Music Division, and he quickly began his search for a fresh young executive talent to work with. Thereafter Wallace was hired, as the youngest executive in Artist Development. Under this New Executive Jacket, his first record was “Candy Girl” with the group New Edition, there after came Ready for the World, Sugar Babes, Cherelle, and Alexander O’Neal. As a Marketing Executive of Artist Development, Wallace was responsible for promotional/ marketing/ visual, and campaign set-up to brand the MCA roster. His experience with the Brand World continued with some of the R&B/POP top Artist such as, Guy, Bobby Brown, BB King, Jodice, Jody Watley, Heavy D and The Boys Father MC, Elton John, Tiffany, Pebbles Glady’s Knight and the Pips, Pattie Labell, Stephanie Mills and Mary J Blige amoug many others. In the 1990′s, Wallace left the music industry and took on a position as Vice President of Marketing for McDoanlds Corporation. Two years later he returned back home to Universal/ Motown under the leadership of Jheryl Busby again, where they branded Mo Jazz Label, the re-birth of Diana Ross, Queen Latifah, Shanice, Boys To Men, and Another Badd Creation. Soon after he was promoted with handling full budgets/marketing/promotional and sales control under the Universal/Motown/MadSound umbrella and was transferred to promotions as national director of street/urban marketing for Luke Records, Where he handled the branding of Two Live Crew/Poison Clan and H-Town, while maintaining his previous position at Motown/MadSound and Rip it Recods which roster included 95 south/ 69 boys and Club Nuevo.
At the turn of the century ( the year 2000), Wallace left the music divison and joined Universal Theme Parks. There he oversaw all of the parks employees and 24 chefs. It was during this time he was approached to join Front1, Rowdy and Universal as President of the newly formed company. Later accepting the offer. Wallace’s now unspoken title was the Renaissance man of Music and Entertainment, aside from Running PoeBoy Music Group/Front1/Rowdy Records, he aslso maintained his marketing/promotional company (I H M Music Group), Previous Clients Included Sony, Jive, Def Jam, TVT, and Warner. After many Hills and Valleys in October of 2008, Wallace returned back to PoeBoy Music Group to head it’s Global Branding and Marketing restructuring, as SR VP of Marketing/Operations.
It is Duly Noted that Wallace’s many talents and skills has brought an on going process of experience, planning and eceptional exective mixture of operations/ product branding/ trademarks/ branding/ Pricing/ Distribution marketing communication/ customer focus/ product focus/ advertising/ direct marketing/ personal promotions/ publicity/ broadcasting/ on-line Internet marketing/ point of purchase novelty items/ digital marketing budgetting forecast/ staffing and networking.
His uncanny ability to creatively brand and market prodcts in a global economy, has helped him to always embrace new technology to compete with today’s markeetplace for a share of the dollar for profits.
