Founder & Chairman Executive Officer of Poe Boy Music Group
Elric ‘E-Class’ Prince
Universal Law defines what is destined to be. What one envisions and speaks into existence is the culmination of recognizing what already exists. Elric “E-Class†Prince, founder and CEO of Poe Boy Music Group, entrepreneur and marketing genius, has mastered the art of synchronization. From simultaneously creating hit records, launching the careers of his artists to marketeering beyond the traditional threshold–he is designing quite an impressive empire. Prince is aiming to create a lasting foundation that will not only result in launching the careers of his artists, but establishing Poe Boy Music Group as a staple in the entertainment industry.
Though facing some adversity through the years after founding the company in 1999, he has remained dedicated to his vision by cultivating his artist repertoire, Poe Boy Music Group roster includes: Rappers “Briscoâ€, a lyrical spitfire who is signed to Cash Money Records/Universal Music Group, “Flo-Rida†who is singed to Atlantic Records, and on course to become a household name. “Rodney,†an R&B singer, is currently unsigned to a major label, but has been featured on numerous hit records and has potential to redefine the R&B music genre. Other developing acts include rappers, D-Brown and Carol City Cartel (Triple- C).
Prince is also responsible for negotiating and solidifying major record deals for former Poe Boy Music Group artist Jacki-O, with Sobe Entertainment and TVT records. He has also landed record deals for Flo- Rida/Atlantic, Brisco/Cash Money, and Rick Ross (Slip N’ Slide/Def Jam) who just this past year held down the BillBoard Charts for weeks with a #1 debut album, “Port of Miami.” Ross’ mastertone for his smash hit “Hustlin” broke all industry records by reaching Platinum status a week prior to his album release in August 2006. He packaged Rick Ross’s mixtape, and in the midst of shopping it, a bidding war between major labels ensued. The result? A multi-million-dollar record deal with Def Jam Recordings. This, E-Class deems as one of his biggest accomplishment thus far and is more than ready for the next step.
Poe Boy Music Group is on the move and is poised to dominate each facet of the entertainment industry. The label is backed by a team of captivating individuals whose passion is success. Under the direction of this well-seasoned executive, the company will undoubtedly forge ahead.
Acknowledged as a leader and a true hustler, coupled with a do-what-has-to-be-done-get-it-done mentality years back and more appropriately now; this philosophy has carried over to managing his artist’s careers and by releasing hit records. According to the rainmaker, his marketing abilities are on another level when it comes to his artists and the company, “It’s hands on and hands down when it comes to promoting and marketing, I’m on top,†he says. He also knows that he has yet to prove his record sales but he knows that music is not the problem, he makes great music. Poe Boy Music Group is transitioning into a powerhouse and although E-Class is sometimes misunderstood (some mistake him for being arrogant) without a doubt he is a dealmaker and respected mover and shaker; never compromising his integrity, or the integrity of his artists, he is a rebel with a cause.
Following these accomplishments, E-Class is putting together the crème da la crop of releases for 2007/2008. These releases will demonstrate the growth of the Poe Boy “Movement.†E-Class says, “Let’s face it. Right now, it’s a very interesting time to be young and black and successful.â€
With the company already deeply entrenched in film and television and having successfully marketed hip-hop, E-Class is cognizant that he’ll be able to, open any door, acquire any meeting and have access to any talent, including his own.
For E-Class, he’s not the least bit concerned about how the industry perceives him; his focus is on making great music and dominating the marketing industry worldwide. This is just another chapter in his growth and he’s running with the ball, with all intentions of scoring the winning point.
